Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges maintained its lead after day one of the 2026 SCIAC Women’s Golf Championship even as Pomona-Pitzer Colleges trimmed six shots off their deficit to trail by just one stroke.

The Sagehens turned in the only below-par round of the tournament so far at two-under while the Athenas carded a +4. The University of Redlands is 17 shots off the lead in third place, followed by California Lutheran University (+32), Occidental College, Chapman University and the University of La Verne. Three individuals remain under par as Pomona-Pitzer rookie
Annabelle Chan moved up to take the lead at -5 with yesterday’s leader,
Christine Yu of CMS, still second two shots behind and another Sagehen,
Eunice Yi, in third at -2.
Scores remained fairly evenly distributed across each set of holes, though Redlands and CMS distanced themselves from the pack with a combined -10 on Par 5s. The 17
th and 18
th continued to provide scoring opportunities with a combined 21 birdies and just four bogeys, while the front nine again proved most difficult with the fourth hole surrendering just a single birdie over the first two rounds. Yu retained the lead on Par 5s while Chan and Yi both have notched a -4 on Par 4s ahead of three Athenas, though
Alisa Ching (CMS) has been the only player to figure out the Par 3s at -3 with Chan next up at Even-par.
The tournament will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, Apr. 25 with the women’s teams set to tee off first again beginning at 9 a.m.
