First Half Goal Puts Sagehens into SCIAC Women's Soccer Final

A first half goal by No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer proved to be the deciding score in its SCIAC Semi-Final match against No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday, November 4, in Claremont, Calif.

The Sagehens were able to strike inside of the first of the first 13 minutes, as Vivian Rojas Collins swept a free kick underneath a wall of four defenders and past the keeper.

As it has done all year, the Pomona-Pitzer defense once again stood tall with eight shots allowed and just three on goal. Patricia DePalma saved all three shots she faced for her 10th individual shutout of the season.

The Sagehens will now play in their second consecutive SCIAC Tournament Final and face the winner of No. 1 California Lutheran and No. 5 Chapman on Saturday, November 7.
