Women's Soccer Tournament Set to Begin on Monday

The 2026 SCIAC Women's Soccer Tournament is set to begin with the No. 4 seed Occidental hosting the No. 5 seed Chapman on Monday, November 2. The winner will then face top seeded California Lutheran, while No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer hosts No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

California Lutheran enters as the No. 1 seed after posting 32 conference points. The Regals scored 51 goals while allowing just nine across 19 matches, and conceded just six in conference play. Sawyer Frye leads the team with seven goals and eight assists, while Stephenie Hackett has also found the back of the net six times. In its path to claiming the regular season championship, the Regals defeated Pomona-Pitzer in the final match of the conference slate, 2-1 to jump ahead of the Sagehens.

Right behind them, Pomona-Pitzer sits in second with 31 conference points. Amongst 41 goals scored as a team, Brooke Bailey has posted a conference-best 10 goals, including four game-winning goals, while Sabina Peterson Rajalingam has added 5 goals. The defensive efforts have been solidified by both goalkeeper Patricia DePalma and defender Vivian Rojas Collins, who have appeared in all 16 matches and combined for over 1,800 minutes played.

On the other side of the bracket, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps holds the third seed after recording 23 conference points. The Athenas saw several strong individual offensive efforts on the season, led by Jordan Yates with 7 goals. Lexi Roth also added five goals, while Flora Glantz recorded 6 assists. After a slow start to conference play, CMS recovered to finish the year with six wins in their final eight matches.

Occidental enters as the fourth seed after clinching home field advantage for the opening round of the tournament in the final match of the regular season. Bella Calemine led with 4 goals and 3 assists, while Alessia Sacchi added 3 game-winning goals. With a 1-0 win over CMS on Saturday, the Tigers earned the tiebreaker over the Panthers.

Rounding out the field, Chapman comes in as the fifth seed with 19 conference points. The Panthers beat out La Verne for the final spot in the tournament. In what was a strong defensive performance all season, goalkeeper Sienna Gomez posted 5 shutouts. Though Chapman saw a streak of six consecutive matches without a win, the Panthers ended the season with back-to-back victories.

The championship final is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, at a time to be determined on the campus of the highest remaining seed.
