The second-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges Athenas advanced over Whittier College, 3-0, in the semifinal of the 2025 SCIAC Volleyball Tournament on Thursday night.

An epic first set extended into extra points until the hosts finally prevailed, 31-29.  The Poets hung close in the second set before succumbing, 25-22, and CMS carried the momentum boost through to victory. The Athenas notched an impressive 53 kills across the three sets with 50 assists, Including 28 from Hayden Lin 

National No. 21 CMS will head to No. 2 University of La Verne for the tournament final at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
