Former national No. 1 University of La Verne’s
Mya Ray reclaimed the Offensive Athlete of the Year mantle and California Lutheran University’s
Keegan Corley earned Defensive Athletie of the Year recognition to headline the 2025 Volleyball All-Conference teams.
Ray, a leading national player of the year candidate, led the conference in kills for a fourth consecutive season (5.00 per set) as well as hitting percentage (.345) for the league’s top-ranked offense.
Corley assumed the SCIAC digs crown with an average of 5.71 per set that was crucial in leading the Regals back to the SCIAC Tournament for the first time since 2022. The junior topped 20 digs on 10 occasions, including a 34-dig performance in a 3-2 defeat at La Verne.
Lily Kautai was named the Newcomer of the Year after ranking third in the league for aces (28) and fifth in kills per set (3.06). The rookie just missed recording a double-double with 18 digs, nine kills and four aces in handing the Leopards their only defeat of the season on Nov. 4.
Teammate
Avery Aminoff was presented with the Character Award, which is given to a junior or senior who best exemplifies success on the court, in the classroom and with involvement in community and school service. A critical reason behind Redlands’ improvement on the court from a one-win season in 2022 to 8-8 and this year’s #5 seed in the SCIAC Tournament, the two-year captain has been incredibly involved in the classroom and community as well as a thoughtful teammate. Aminoff’s volunteer activities include with Totally Kids Rehab Hospital, the Redlands Food Pantry, Ronald McDonald House, Jasper’s Corner tutoring and the campus SURF Garden.
Jeff Hendershot and the regular season champion Leopards bench were acknowledged as the Coaching Staff of the Year after leading La Verne to a 15-1 record in conference play. ULV held the national No.1 AVCA ranking for seven consecutive weeks The Leos paced the conference in points (18.32 per set), hitting percentage (.236), blocks (2.94 per set) and opponents’ hitting percentage (.100) and aces (0.91).
La Verne led all programs with three First Team selection, though CMS had the most total honorees with four. Cal Lutheran landed two First Team accolades while Whittier College received three total, followed by Chapman University and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges with one pick on each team. Kautai was Redlands' lone selection and Occidental College landed the other Second Team spot. Ray earned the rare distinction of four career First Team accolades, while
Paige Mountanos of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges also earned a fourth career and third straight First Team honor. Former Newcomer of the Year
Mia D'Amato (WC) repeated on the First Team for a third career acknolwedgment, with
Zacky Coaston (ULV) and
Brooke McKee (CMS) also repeating on the top squad. Chapman's
Olivia Harrison made the step up from the Second Team to round out the returning All-Conference performers.
