The University of La Verne Leopards survived another epic five-set match to defeat Berry College, 3-2, and advance to the NCAA Championship match on Saturday against UW-Oshkosh.

Mya Ray continued to validate the AVCA Player of the Year recognition with a 36-kill performance on a .325 hitting percentage and completed the double-double with 13 digs.
Lauren Gott and
Malia Capistrano also notched double-doubles with 12K/16D and 26A/12D, respectively while
Zacky Coaston and
Mariah Ray combined for an impactful 14 kills and eight blocks in the middle.
This will mark La Verne's fifth appearance in the national championship and first since 2008. The Leopards have won two NCAA championships, which came in 2001 and 1982.
La Verne will face University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 4 p.m. CT/2 p.m. PT on Saturday, Dec. 6 with the national championship title on the line.
