Regals Crowned Women's Soccer National Champions

The California Lutheran University Regals completed their historic Cinderella run as the only unranked team in history to reach the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship final, claiming their first-ever national title with a 1-0 victory over No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis on the campus of Roanoke College at the 100th championship hosted in Salem, Va.

Isabella Veljacic curled a shot from 25 yards off the underside of the crossbar that bounced off the back of the goalkeeper and in for the go-ahead score in the 17th minute.

The Regals weathered injuries that left them without SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Year Avery West and First Team All-Conference selections Savana Durr (2023) and Adriana Maroney (2022) for the final.

Second Team All-America selection Eden Quiroz was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Defensive Player while Veljacic was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player and Brynn McMahon and Kelsey Slaugh were named to the All-Tournament Team.
