All nine SCIAC member institutions have been ranked in the final Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup standings for the first time since 2018-19.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges paced the SCIAC in ninth place with 888.25 points to extend what is now a 13-year streak of top 15 finishes. The Athenas and Stags finished a high of third place in 2017-18 and fourth in 2016-17. CMS won the national title in men’s golf for 100 points in addition to being national runner-up in men’s tennis and finish in third-place finish in women’s tennis. Women’s track & field placed sixth while women’s golf was one spot behind. Baseball earned ninth-place points and men’s track & field scored to place 55
th.
The Learfield Directors’ Cup scores up to 18 total sports, four of which must be men’s basketball and soccer, and women’s basketball and soccer, leaving the next 14 highest points scored to also be counted.
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges ranked 27
th with 585.50 points with the University of Redlands also cracking the top 100 at 96
th (212.75). California Lutheran University placed 133
rd on 147.00 points followed by the University of La Verne (179
th, 90.00), Chapman university (217
th, 64.00), Whittier College (263
rd, 42.00), Caltech (269
th, 31.00) and Occidental College (274
th, 25.00).
Six schools had appeared in the
fall update and both Redlands and Whittier made the grade in the
winter update, with Caltech joining after the spring thanks to a fourth-place finish by
Luke Lamitina at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Pomona-Pitzer was sixth in women’s golf, followed by women’s lacrosse in ninth place and baseball in 17
th. Redlands won the SCIAC’s first national championship in softball and finished 16
th in women’s golf while also garnering points for 68
th place in men’s track & field.
CLU men’s volleyball made the NCAA semifinals while Caltech finished 41
st in men’s track & field to round out the spring point hauls.
