Second-seeded Pomona-Pitzer Colleges rallied in the eighth inning to advance over #5 University of La Verne, 6-5, in the 2026 SCIAC Baseball Tournament.

The defending champion Leopards, already with two wins under their belts, exploded in a five-run top of the first inning before an out could be recorded. The Sagehens pulled four back in the fourth to trail by one after Wade Lawson came in to pitch seven scoreless innings and a second two-run homer by Kai Gonzaga in the bottom of the eighth flipped the margin in the hosts' favor. Eli Della Bitta remained in the game to pick up the win after two scoreless frames with just one hit allowed. 

Pomona-Pitzer will await the winner of a rematch between Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and La Verne in the Championship series on Saturday, May 9 at 2 p.m. with a possible Game 8 scheduled for Sunday, May 10 at 11 a.m.
