Women's Track & Field All-SCIAC Awards: Jett (CMS), Eichinger (UR) Athletes of Year

Josephine Jett of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and Elisabeth Eichinger of the University of Redlands earned Track and Field Athlete of the Year distinction following the 2026 SCIAC Championship.

Jett claimed four gold medals at the SCIAC Championship, including three individually. A 13.78 in the 100-meter hurdles set a new meet record and tied the overall SCIAC mark as Jett also repeated as 100m and 200m dash champion while also leading the 4x100 Relay team to victory.

Eichinger improved on last year's double-silver performance with gold and a new meet record 4767 points in the heptathlon, silver in the 4x100 Relay and bronze in the long jump.

Newcomer of the Year recognition went to Occidental College's Kayla Sepulveda, who was runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 11.85 meters.

Oxy's Eliza Hawley was presented the Jennifer Stary Award in acknowledgement of exemplifying the conference's high ideals including ability, leadership, determination, sportsmanship and sincerity of academic pursuit. A sociology major with a 3.94 cumulative GPA who is also a two-time SCIAC champion in the 200- and 400-meter dashes and an All-American in the 400m, the seior has been the heart and soul of the Tigers team the past few years, setting the standard for sprinters in terms of work ethic and competitiveness while also being compassionate and collaborative with teammates. After suffering a career-ending injury, Hawley has continued to remain upbeat and supportive of the team.

Glenn Stewart and the Athenas assistants were named Coaching Staff of the Year after leading CMS to a repeat Championship title. Athenas won 13 events and totaled 23 All-Conference performances during the meet, including a sweep of the 100h podium to win by 83 points.
