The No. 21 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges Sagehens’ tournament run ended with a second defeat at No. 8 Johns Hopkins University, 7-3, after yesterday’s instant classic followed by a victory over Pfeiffer University to reach the regional final.

The Blue Jays scored two runs in the top of the second inning despite Kai Gonzaga throwing out a runner at the plate. Pomona-Pitzer equalized after solo home runs by Peter Savas in the third inning and Landon Hu in the fifth, but JHU plated another five on three homers across the sixth and seventh innings, leaving a solo shot by Tanner DeGrazia in the ninth well short of keying a rally. Wade Lawson finished the game on the mound with one strikeout over 1.1 innings pitched.
