Rookie
Tegin Maloney threw a complete game in a 5-2 win at Tufts University that sends Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges to the regional final series with two wins under their belt in the 2026 NCAA Baseball Championship.
Rider Gordon kicked off the scoring for the Stags with a solo home run in the top of the first inning.
Blaise Hehir doubled the lead in the top of the fifth inning, scoring on a sacrifice fly by
Bryce Didrickson but Tufts halved the deficit immediately on a two-out RBI double. Back-to-back doubles in the top of the eighth from
Jett Shue and Didrickson jumpstarted a scoring flurry for CMS, with Gordon also driving home Didrickson and scoring on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch worn by
Max Pemberton.
Maloney struck out seven while allowing seven hits and just one walk on 96 pitches.
