The University of Redlands advanced over Chapman University, 8-0, in a battle of the top two seeds in the 2026 SCIAC Softball Tournament.
The visiting Panthers had several opportunities early in the game but could not capitalize with four runners left on base over the first three innings. Redlands took advantage with a seven-run fourth inning as all the damage came with two outs and run-ruled the game in the fifth.

Katlyn Gandara went 2-for-3 with three RBI while
Avery Provenzano was 3-for-3 with two runs.
Brianna Garcia struck out two with four hits allowed in 3.1 innings pitched before giving way to Newcomer of the Year
Caitlynn Griffith, who was credited with the win after 1.2 scoreless frames with one punchout against just one hit.
The Panthers will bat as the visiting team against Whittier College in an elimination game to conclude play today, with the winner advancing to the Championship series tomorrow, Sunday, May 10 beginning at 12 p.m.
