Women’s Tennis Tournament: Sagehens Advance Over Bulldogs

Second-seeded Pomona-Pitzer Colleges advanced over the University of Redlands, 4-0, in the semifinals of the 2026 SCIAC Women’s Tennis Tournament on Thursday evening.

The hosts separated in doubles after close battles early on all three courts, then took the first set on all six singles courts to surge ahead. Tessa Ellingson claimed the first single point for the Sagehens, followed by Meha Caudhary to pull within one point of the clincher. Redlands picked up some momentum as Lindsey Whelan forced a third set at #2 singles and Meagan Deng led 4-1 in the second set at the top court before Sofia Kalyva closed out the match at #5.

Pomona-Pitzer will face top-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in the tournament final on Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m.
