Lauren Rha of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges became the fourth consecutive Sagehen over a span of six straight seasons to earn Athlete of the Year distinction atop the 2026 SCIAC Women's Tennis All-Conference teams.
Rha went undefeated in both singles and doubles during SCIAC play, teaming with
Leticia Bazua Vazquez at the top court. The senior dropped a single Division III match which came back in February while leading the Sagehens to a close runner-up finish in the regular season.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges first-year
Ananya Sriniketh earned Newcomer of the Year honors after quickly assuming the #2 singles spot in the Athenas' lineup. The rookie has not lost a Division III match all spring and dropped just two matches in the fall, including one to teammate
Rebecca Kong in the finals of the Fall ITA West Regional before reaching the semifinals of the ITA Cup.
Pomona-Pitzer's
Rachel Roxarzade was recognized with the Character Award, given to a senior who best exemplifies success on the court, in the classroom and with involvement in community and school service. In the face of multiple severe health challenges limiting ability to play in matches frequently, Roxarzade has been an incredible team member who consistently assists with match setup, interacts with community members and ensures sportsmanship is in the forefront of teammates' minds. Community service efforts have included serving as a campus captain of the Hidden Opponent for mental health, a holiday blanket-making event for children in hospice and teaching weekly tennis lessons for elementary school students in the area. Graduating in three years as a double major in Spanish and organizational studies, Rozarzade is currently pursuing an MBA at Claremont Graduate University, began marketing work with Dexcom this past summer helping to communicate the benefits of glucose monitoring systems to healthcare organizations and also participated in the NCAA Student Immersion program.
Dave Schwarz and the Athenas earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors after reclaiming the conference regular season title. CMS has not lost a single Division III match this season while holding the national No. 1 ranking since Mar. 4. Six players made All-Conference teams despite injury causing some shuffling of the lineup throughout April.
CMS had three players selected to each team while both Pomona-Pitzer and the University of Redlands landed two on the First Team and a third on the Second Team. Caltech also received three selections including one on the First Team, which Oxy matched while California Lutheran University took the final Second Team spot. Rha earned a third career First Team and fourth total All-SCIAC nod while Deng has made the First Team in all three seasons of eligibility. Last year's Newcomer of the Year,
Greta Nagy,
repeated on the First Team along with sophomore classmate
Rebecca Kong of CMS.
