Second-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges upset Pomona-Pitzer Colleges for the first time in SCIAC competition since 2019 to win a first-ever Women's Water Polo Tournament final, 14-10, on Saturday morning.
A 3-1 second quarter broke a deadlock in the Athenas' favor and the visitors turned away the makings of a late Sagehen rally with another two-goal edge in the fourth. Tournament Most Outstanding Player Valerie Wraith better a hat trick and made an assist while Grace Clark chipped in one goal with three assists. 

The victory awards hosting rights to CMS for the USA Water Polo Division III National Championship next weekend.
