Rodriguez set the tone immediately in the first game of the series between Whittier College and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, batting 5-for-5 just a triple shy of the cycle. The sophomore drove in eight runs and scored six, going 7-for-9 in the Poets’ two victories to take the series.

Name: Caitlynn Griffith
School: Redlands

Position/Number: Starting Pitcher / #10
Hometown/High School: Pala, Calif. / Rancho Christian
 
Griffith spun 5.1 shutout innings and picked up two wins as No. 7 University of Redlands swept Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, running the Bulldogs’ winning streak to a program-record tying 19 games. The rookie struck out nine while allowing just five hits in 6-3 and 3-1 victories.
