Nutter recorded a pair of hits in all three games with three going for extra bases as Whittier College swept the Saturday doubleheader at California Lutheran University to remain in the hunt for what would be a first SCIAC Tournament berth in seven years. The senior batted .600/.667/1.100 with six runs scored and two RBI batting cleanup for the Poets in the must-win series.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Name: Caitlynn Griffith
School: Redlands

Position/Number: Relief Pitcher / #10
Hometown/High School: Pala, Calif. / Rancho Christian
 
Griffith tossed three innings each in two games of a series sweep for No. 7 University of Redlands over Chapman University. The rookie came on in relief in the fifth inning of both contests, with runners on the corners in an eventual 5-1 victory before closing out a 1-0 shutout while striking out and allowing only a single facing the minimum 18 batters.
