Reigning title holders Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges hold a five-point edge over Chapman University through the first day of the 2026 SCIAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships.
Day One Results
The Stags accumulated 141 points between the 200-yard Medley Relay, 800 Free Relay and 3-meter diving. The Panthers trail by just five points and lead Pomona-Pitzer Colleges by eight. Caltech sits in fourth place with 82 points, followed by California Lutheran University (67), Whittier College (66), Occidental College (61), the University of Redlands (54) and the University of La Verne (39).
Last year’s Diver of the Year,
Tommy Matheis, claimed another title on the 3m board with one of two scores to break the 500 mark, posting a 535.15. The Panthers’
Reid Omilian,
Aidan Trautwein and
Jake Randazzo earned the next three spots to rack up 48 points.
The Sagehens kicked off the first night session with a come-from-behind victory in the 200 Medley Relay with
Diego Hodge,
Jonathan Cong,
Adrian Clement,
Casey Jacobs clocking a 1:30.29. Chapman was close behind in second place with a 1:30.71 and CMS was just another .43 behind for third place.
The night concluded with CMS narrowly out-touching Pomona-Pitzer by just .05 in the 800 Free Relay as
Sean Su came from behind on the anchor leg to seal the victory following
Jasper Shue,
Kenny Eckel and
Spencer Merodio. Chapman took the bronze medal.
