Offensive Athlete of the Week
Name: JD Sumlin
School: California Lutheran
Year: Senior
Position/Number: Running Back / #4
Hometown/High School: Lancaster, Calif. / Bishop Alemany
 
Sumlin carried the offensive load for California Lutheran University in a 55-28 victory at the University of Puget Sound. The senior rushed for 191 yards on 32 carries, scoring four touchdowns as the bellcow back for the Kingsmen.
 
Defensive Athlete of the Week
Name: George Kruger
School: Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Year: Junior
Position/Number: Linebacker / #44
Hometown/High School: Clyde Hill, Wash. / Bellevue
 
Kruger gave Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges a lifeline on the verge of defeat in Oregon by forcing a fumble on the Stags’ own 4-yard line with just over a minute remaining in the game. That key play set up a game-winning 96-yard touchdown pass after Robert Litscher evaded a sack in the end zone to connect with Jaden Rattay. Kurger also contributed a third-down sack in the third quarter that took George Fox University out of field goal range.
 
Special Teams Athlete of the Week
Name: Aidan Petruescu
School: Redlands
Year: Senior
Position/Number: Kicker / #93
Hometown/High School: La Mirada, Calif. / La Mirada
 
Petruescu converted four extra-points and two field goals, with a long of 40 yards, as the University of Redlands upset RV Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash. The senior also handled punting duties, booming seven for an average of 41.9 yards with a long of 60 yards and downing three inside the 20-yard line.
