Offensive Athlete of the Week
Name: Kade Zimmerman
School: Chapman
Year: Senior
Position/Number: Wide Receiver / #2
Hometown/High School: Irvine, Calif. / Irvine
 
Zimmerman was responsible for three touchdowns in Chapman University’s 27-0 victory against the University of Redlands. The senior hauled in seven passes for a total of 133 yards from Tyler Pacheco, with two scores coming on consecutive plays separated by just over a minute to cap an 80-yard drive and following a pick.
 
Defensive Athlete of the Week
Name: Kalani Pickett
School: Pomona-Pitzer
Year: Junior
Position/Number: Defensive Back / #3
Hometown/High School: Oceanside, Calif. / Oceanside
 
Pickett picked off two passes as Pomona-Pitzer Colleges recorded a 34-12 win over the University of La Verne. The junior set up ensuing scores on both picks, returning one interception 76 yards before being tackled inside the 10-yard line.
 
Special Teams Athlete of the Week
Name: Matthew Montegna
School: California Lutheran
Year: First-year
Position/Number: Kicker / #47
Hometown/High School: San Diego, Calif. / Patrick Henry
 
Montegna converted three field goals over 40 yards as California Lutheran University remained undefeated with a 22-17 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges. After a first quarter attempt was blocked and facing a 14-point deficit, the rookie got CLU on the board in the second quarter and bookended the final intermission with three-pointers to cut the margin to one at 17-16 with 5:38 left to play.
