The Occidental College Tigers' NCAA Championship run ended in the Round of 16 as a 106th-minute goal off a free kick gave host No. 13 Amherst College the 1-0 victory early Saturday morning.

The Tigers controlled possession well but had to lock in defensively inside the box throughout the game as Amherst managed 16 shots, eight of which were on goal to Oxy's five and one. Riley Nyhan made seven saves over the first 105 minutes of play. The Tigers were dangerous on several attacking possessions, including winning nine corner kicks, but could not punch through the Mammoths' defense.

Oxy was one of just three teams not ranked or receiving votes in the US Soccer Coaches Rankings to reach the Round of 16.
