The #5 seeded Whittier men's soccer team will play for a SCIAC Championship following a 2-1 win over #1 seeded Redlands on Thursday, November 5, in Redlands, Calif.

In a close battle all night, Jack Hindmarsh had the match's opening goal in the 34th minute to put the Poets ahead, 1-0. Following 33 minutes of scoreless play, the Bulldogs drew even on a goal by Anders Beckton.

However, the tie was short lived, as a quick thrown in by Whittier at the 75-minute mark led to a goal from just outside the box Teodor Hamilton.

Hindmarsh ended the night with both his goal and an assist on the game-winner.

The Poets will now face #3 La Verne for the SCIAC Title on Sunday, November 8, at 1 p.m. in La Verne, Calif.
