No. 4 University of Redlands defeated Dominican (Ill.) University, 5-3, in the first game of the 2026 NCAA Division III Softball Championship to move into the winner's bracket, where the Bulldogs will face either host No. 23 Wartburg College or Illinois Wesleyan University tomorrow.

Katlyn Gandara smacked a solo home run in the first inning to open the scoring while tossing a shutout in the circle through five innings. The Bulldogs plated one run in each of those innings before Caitlynn Griffith stepped in to earn the save with three strikeouts in 1.1 hitless innings. Five Bulldogs recorded multiple hits, including Natalie Lopez who also hit a home run.
