Pomona-Pitzer Colleges rallied in the final seven minutes to score three goals and defeat Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, 14-13, to advance to the third round of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship.
A deadlocked first half portended an exciting finish and CMS held a two-goal lead with seven minutes left to play, but three key draw control wins for the Sagehens including the last two by SCIAC Newcomer of the Year Maihue Miranda Wiltberger gave the hosts they possessions they needed. A failed clear led to a free position shot for Pomona-Pitzer as time expired.
