Ryan (CMS), Stanton (PP) Named USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America

Julia Ryan of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges and SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Year Shelby Stanton of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges have been named Second and Third Team All-America, respectively, by USA Lacrosse Magazine.

Ryan, already the NCAA career leader in draw controls, currently ranks as the national leader in draw controls per game at 18.53 per contest, with nobody else in the nation even in double figures. 

Stanton helped anchor the Sagehens' back line that ranked 10th nationally in scoring defense (5.94 goals allowed per game), 25th in ground balls per game (23.61) and second in scoring margin (10.22). The Mountain Lakes, New Jersey native caused 26 turnovers on the season and picked up 23 ground balls. She also scored three goals and had one draw control.
