Sagehens, Stags, Poets All Get on the Board to Open NCAA Swimming & Diving Championship

Three SCIAC teams got on the board on the first day of the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championship, led by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in a tie for 14th place while Whittier College and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges look to move up over the course of the meet.

Tommy Matheis had the top finish of the day among all SCIAC competitors as the Sagehens sophomore won the consolation flight, just clearing a score of 500.45. Thomas Langlois of Whittier and William Jones of CMS placed 13th and 14th, respectively, in the 500-yard freestyle. The Sagehens 400 Medley Relay team of Nathan XuNate LevyDiego Hodge and Casey Jacobs placed 13th to close out the night.
