The second-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges Athenas advanced over Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, 59-54, in the semifinals of the 2026 SCIAC Women's Basketball Tournament.

The host Athenas fell into a 16-point hole at 31-15 midway through the second quarter but clawed six of those points back before halftime and took the lead just four minutes into the third quarter. The foes traded blows throughout the remainder of the game, with Pomona-Pitzer getting an open look from deep to equalize with 11 seconds left to play, but
Caleigh Edwards calmly sank two free throws after gathering to rebound to put the game out of reach.
CMS committed just eight turnovers as a team while forcing Pomona-Pitzer into 17. Edwards paced four Athenas to score in double figures with 18 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds, five steals and three assists.
Jadyn Lee double-doubled for the Sagehens with a game-high 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
CMS will head to Thousand Oaks to face California Lutheran University on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m.
