The Stags reached the third round of the 2024 NCAA Championship where they defeated No. 5 Colorado College, then lasted 84 minutes in a scoreless tie at No. 3 Middlebury College before bowing out on a deflected clearance for a goal. The tournament run marked the deepest for CMS since 1985 (along with the 2019 team), ending the season with a 16-4-3 record that included a decisive 5-1 victory in the SCIAC Tournament final, having taken a 4-0 lead over the opening 23 minutes. James Gomez and
John Laidlaw, who with 57 shots on goal between them comprised two-thirds of a potent CMS attack that averaged over two goals across 23 games.
CMS opens the season on Friday, Aug. 29 at No. 11 Trinity (Texas) University for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
