With play suspended again before more than only a handful of teams could complete the second round at the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship, No. 6 Pomona-Pitzer and No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges are looking safe from the cut line while No. 13 University of Redlands is currently on the wrong side, though still projected to make it through.
Live Scoring
The Bulldogs are one of just seven squads to have completed the second round and one of even fewer to have completed their round each day, though that did not play out in their favor yesterday as the course played significantly more manageable before lightning forced suspension at 4 p.m. Eastern Time. The Sagehens rank 10
th at +30 with three holes left to play while the Athenas are 12
th (+34) with two holes remaining and a three-stroke cushion to the cut line, which currently sits at +37. Redlands is in 16
th at +38 but ranks fourth among programs to have finished both rounds, notably just trailing a pair of programs ranked outside the top 25 that have at least 15 holes left to play. Individually, SCIAC Newcomer of the Year
Rena Kaneko leads all SCIAC competitors in a tie for 12
th place at +3 after tying for the low round of Day Two (-3).
Play will resume at 5 a.m. Pacific Time tomorrow, Thursday, May 15.
