CMS Places Third at Women's Golf Champs, UR Sixth and PP Ninth

No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges kept up a torrid finish to place third at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship ahead of No. 13 University of Redlands, which tied for sixth, and No. 6 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, which finished in ninth.

The Athenas matched their second round of 295 that was third-best in the field on the final day to finish 14 strokes out of second place. Redlands moved up one position to tie for sixth just two strokes out of fifth and five shy of fourth place, while Pomona-Pitzer snuck into the top 10 just two back from the Bulldogs.

Redlands first-year Rena Kaneko was the top SCIAC finisher in a tie for fifth individually at +3, just four shots out of runner-up status. Christine Yu (CMS) tied for ninth at +6.
