The Chapman University Panthers rode a shutout second half to a 27-17 victory over California Lutheran University in the SCIAC Championship Game in Orange on Saturday afternoon.

CLU made the most of some opportune plays in the first half to take a 17-7 lead into the break, but the hosts found another gear as the rain let up in the second half. Tyler Pacheco threw for two touchdowns and scored another with a goal-line leap over the pile to seal the victory.

The Panthers will await their NCAA Championship matchup to be announced on the Selection Show tomorrow at 2 p.m.
