Wallwork was 5-for-5 for 50 yards through the air and ran for 85 yards and three touchdowns in Azusa Pacific's 35-17 win over Whittier. In the second quarter alone, the first-year quarterback rushed for a pair of touchdowns to put the Cougars up 14-3 at the break.

The Athenas allowed just one goal in its first two SCIAC matches, and Randolph played a significant role in limiting the opponents' offensive efforts. Against Whittier, CMS allowed just three shots, none of which were on target. Then, facing California Lutheran, the Athenas held the Regals scoreless for the opening 62 minutes. Randolph also found the back of the net in CMS's draw against Cal Lutheran.
