Luke Lamitina of Caltech and Kaden Cassidy of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges have been named to the Academic All-America teams for Men's Track & Field/Cross Country by the College Sports Communicators. Lamitina earned First Team honors, while Cassidy was tabbed to the Second Team.
Lamitina closed out his career with the Beavers as a First Team All-American in the javelin throw at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2026. Additionally, he won the javelin throw competition at the SCIAC Championships. A two-year team member at Caltech, it is Lamitina's first time earning Academic All-America honors.
A Lexington, MA, native, Cassidy was an All-American in the hammer throw this past Spring after placing 15th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. He was also the SCIAC champion in the hammer throw for a second season in a row. This is Cassidy's second time earning Academic All-America honors after previously being named to the Third Team last year.
Cassidy currently holds the CMS program record and ranks ninth in Division III history in the hammer throw with a distance of 213'3".
