Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges outlasted Case Western Reserve, 4-2, following a two-hour lightening delay.
Case took the doubles point to start a tightly contested match but CMS soon reversed the margin with singles wins by Advik Mareedu and Caleb Settles at courts #1 and #6, respectively. The delay struck with Sibi Raja just two points from winning at #4 but the break shifted momentum and the rookie was mired in a third set soon after playing for a match point while Case took court #5.
Wareen Pham stepped up in the big moment to take court #2 in hard-fought straight sets, 7-5, 7-5 leaving the Stags within one point of the win. SCIAC Newcomer of the Year Henry Wilson found that point at court #3, 6-4, 6-3.
