NCAA Championship: Athenas Fifth, Sagehens and Bulldogs Ahead of Projected Cut

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges are in fifth place after the opening round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship while Pomona-Pitzer Colleges rank ninth and the University of Redlands is tied-10th.

Esther Lee fired a -1 that tied at fifth individually for the Athenas, who at +9 are six strokes back of the lead with the top three teams in the nation ahead of them. The senior carded five birdies including three in a row to close out the front nine and ranks just two strokes behind the leader. Eunice Yi paced the Sagehens with an Even-par 72 while Cecili Hayes led the Bulldogs at +2.

The tournament will resume tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. with CMS and Pomona-Pitzer playing in the same group starting right away on the back nine. Redlands will tee off on the first hole beginning at 8:40 a.m.
