Second-seeded Pomona-Pitzer Colleges survived a tight battle with the University of Redlands to advance in the semifinals of the 2026 SCIAC Men'e Tennis Tournament.
The top two doubles courts secured the first point of the match as Drew Goldman and Jay Mallampati overcame MJ Abarca and Vitomir Petcov, 6-3, in a battle of the region's second- and third-ranked tandems. Singles play was highly competitive across the lineup in the first set as Redlands took the lead on three courts and dropped 7-5 and 7-6 decisions on the top courts. As both those courts went to the hosts in straight sets, so too did 3 and 6 singles in the Bulldogs' favor leaving courts 4 and 5 to decide the match and Redlands needing to win both. Each went to a third set where rookies Valor Dale and Tanner Ige got early breaks and held on to clinch, with Ige earning the decisive point one serve ahead of Dale.
The Sagehens will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in the tournament final on Friday afternoon.
