A tournament-record 15 steals lifted top-seeded University of Redlands reached the century mark in a 100-76 win over Occidental College to advance to the final of the 2026 SCIAC Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The Bulldogs wasted no time in racing out to a substantial lead, steadily increasing the margin to a 24 points just before halftime. That advantage reached a game-high of 29 with 9:58 left to play before Occidental found a rhythm, rattling off a 9-1 run that would be as close as the Tigers got down the stretch.
 
Five Bulldogs scored in double figures with Jake Hlywiak leading the way on 19 points with a 5-for-8 mark from downtown, while Omari Ferguson and Donovan Ware each nabbed five steals to help force a total of 23 from Oxy. Jhace Boston added five blocks, five rebounds and three assists to go with 11 points.
 
The Bulldogs will host #3 seed Chapman University in the final on Sunday, Mar. 1 at 2 p.m.
