Fourth-seeded Occidental College advanced over #5 seed California Lutheran University in the First Round of the SCIAC Men's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday night.

The host Tigers jumped out to an early lead and never relented, heading into halftime ahead 44-35 and closing out a game CLU rally 88-84.

Nasir Luna poured in 26 points including 10 free throws while Nicky Clotfelter approached a triple-double with eight points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Ryder Mjoen paced five Kingsmen to score in double figures with 17 points.

Oxy will head to top-seeded University of Redlands on Friday, Feb. 27 in the semifinals.
