Tome stepped into a starting role as No. 23 Chapman University took the series against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, 2-1. The rookie hit .500 with a pair of runs batted in and scored in the doubleheader sweep, including the go-ahead run in an eventual 6-5 win to tie the series.

Hometown/High School: West Covina, Calif. / South Hills
 
Tafolla spun 3.1 shutout innings to position the University of La Verne to rally for a 4-3 win over George Fox University. The rookie earned the win behind four strikeouts and a single hit allowed while walking three.
