Three SCIAC Individuals Make WGCA Division III Fall Watchlists

Three SCIAC individuals have been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division III Fall Watchlists, as announced on Thursday, November 5.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps head coach Lexi Nielsen was listed on the Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year amongst West region candidates, while first-year Athena golfer Kate Keith was tabbed to both the PING WGCA Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year watchlists.

Annabelle Chan of Pomona-Pitzer joined Keith on the Player of the Year watchlist as well.

Across three Fall tournaments, CMS recorded a pair of top-two finishes, including a first-place performance at the CA State Intercollegiate, and came in eighth out of 15 teams at the NCAA Preview. Keith was the top individual golfer for the Athenas in two of those tournaments, highlighted by a first-place finish at the Hollins Cup.

The Sagehens competed at four Fall tournaments in which Chan tied for first at the Hollins Cup and came in second at the UWW Fall Invite.
