Women’s Soccer Athletes of the Week | Sept. 1, 2025

Offensive Athlete of the Week
Name: Frankie Fragola
School: Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Year: Junior
Position/Number: Midfielder/#6
Hometown/High School: Wayzata, Minn. / Edina

Fragola scored both goals to lead Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges to a 2-0 upset of No. 17 New York University after tying Stevens Institute of Technology two days prior to open the season. The junior scored the game’s first goal off a loose ball following a corner kick and then completed the brace with some footwork at the top of the six-yard box.

Defensive Athlete of the Week
Name: Emma Tumbarello
School: Whittier
Year: Senior
Position/Number: Center Back/#27
Hometown/High School: Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. / Rancho Cucamonga

Two-year captain Tumbarello and the Whittier College Poets shut out a pair of Northwest Conference foes in Whitworth University and George Fox University to start the season 2-0. The hosts allowed just three combined shots on goal thanks in large part to the senior’s willingness to step up and cut out attacks in the defensive midfield.
