Marcus Gee ‘22 is a historical standout of the Caltech men’s basketball program. The Four-year guard holds the records for most points in a season (480) and a career (1614) at Caltech.
The Santa Monica, Calif. native finished his career with Caltech with 166 steals, 191 assists, and 277 made field goals.
Gee was automatic from the three-point line. In 2021-22, he set the Caltech single-season record for most made threes in a season (77) and a career (277). Gee’s prowess from distance opened up space for his teammates, helping Gee dish 71 assists that year alone.
2019 was an exceptional season for Gee. In that year, the Computer Science major was first team All-SCIAC, leading his team in scoring (19.3 ppg), steals (1.8 spg), free throw percentage (.844), minutes per game (31.5) and three-point field goals (72). During that year, Gee also set the single-season Caltech scoring record and became the second-youngest player ever to hit 1,000 career points.
Gee also led the SCIAC in made three-pointers per game (2.9) and steals per game (1.6) during his 2018 campaign.
