No. 24/Division III No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges edged out DIII No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, 9-8, to four-peat as USA Water Polo Collegiate Division III national champions.

CMS jumped out to a 3-1 lead through the first quarter but Pomona-Pitzer clawed back a goal in the second period and took the lead in the third, then sealed the victory in a level fourth. The Sagehens converted six of 13 extraman opportunities to the Athenas' 4-for-9 mark, including a pair of penalty scores on four attempts to the Athenas' 0-2 record.

Zosia Amberger made 10 stops in net while Mia Amberger and Kaylee Stigar contributed three points apiece, including a hat trick by Stigar who also drew three exclusions and nabbed a pair of steals. Grace Clark led CMS with two goals and two assists, with rookie Jordan LaCour netting a hat trick and Mason Spencer making eight saves with just four goals surrendered.
