No. 11 University of Redlands dropped the first game of its trip to the NCAA Division III Women’s College World Series, 8-0, to No. 5 Trine University in Bloomington, Ill.

Kassidy Long recorded the Bulldogs’ lone hit on the day with a two-out single in the first inning, though both Avery Provenzano and Isabella Culp reached base via walk and hit-by-pitch in the fifth and Maya Holshoe joined them after an error to load the bases. A pair of grand slams made the difference for Trine.
 
Redlands will face No. 9 Texas Lutheran University in an elimination game tomorrow, Friday, May 30 at 4:30 p.m.
