Verkamp contributed 17 points on 58 percent shooting, including a 2-for-4 mark from long-range, in California Lutheran University’s 71-59 victory over Whitman College. The junior added five rebounds, two assists and two steals as the Kingsmen improved to 3-1.

Name: Reid Jones
School: Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

Hometown/High School: Carmichael, Calif. / Jesuit
 
Jones grabbed 10 steals for a second game in the young season against the University of California, Santa Cruz. The junior also averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in two RV Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges wins over UCSC and Willamette University, against whom Jones nabbed another three steals and blocked two shots.
