Offensive Athlete of the Week

Name: Jessi Lumsden
School: Chapman
Year: Sophomore
Position: Outside Hitter
Hometown: Carlsbad, Calif.

Jessi Lumsden helped Chapman to three SCIAC wins this week including a 3-2 win over No. 4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS), a 3-0 win over La Verne, and a 3-2 win over California Lutheran. Lumsden notched 48 kills (3.69 per set) on 127 swings with 17 errors for a .244 hitting percentage. She added three assists and four service aces during the week, in addition to collecting 36 digs (2.77 per frame) and seven total blocks.

Name: Sophie Srivastava
School: Chapman
Year: Sophomore
Position: Setter
Hometown: Belmont, Calif.

Sophie Srivastava led Chapman to three crucial victories in SCIAC play, including a 3-2 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS), a 3-0 sweep at La Verne, and a 3-2 win over California Lutheran. Srivastava registered three triple-doubles during the week and now has a nation-best seven triple-doubles on the season. She smashed 33 kills, dished out 68 assists, and recorded 53 digs, averaging 2.54 kills, 5.23 helpers, and 4.08 digs per frame. She also posted 14 total blocks, averaging 1.08 per set.
