Offensive Athlete of the Week

Name: Marcos Reyes
School: Chapman
Year: First-year
Position: Running Back
Hometown: Santa Cruz, Calif.

Marcos Reyes earned his second weekly accolade after helping Chapman to a 26-21 victory over Pomona-Pitzer. Reyes notched 132 yards on 19 carries with a long run of 57 yards. His long rush helped set up what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in the third quarter two plays later. He also added a TD run of his own as he averaged 6.9 yards yards per carry in the winning effort. 

Defensive Athlete of the Week

Name: Nathan Parkin
School: Chapman
Year: Senior
Position: Defensive Back
Hometown: San Jose, Calif.

Nathan Parkin helped lead Chapman to a 26-21 win over Pomona-Pitzer in SCIAC action. The senior defensive back hauled in three interceptions to go along with five tackles (all solo), and added a pair of pass break-ups. His final pick came on Pomona-Pitzer's final drive and sealed the win. His second interception gave the ball back to the Panthers for their game-winning drive in the 3rd quarter. 

Specialist of the Week

Name: Alex Raya
School: Redlands
Year: Senior
Position: Kicker
Hometown: Jamul, Calif.

Alex Raya helped pace Redlands to a 33-14 victory over California Lutheran in SCIAC play. Raya set a new school record with a 56-yard field goal that gave the Bulldogs their first points of the contest. He also made another field goal and three point-after attempts in the victory. Raya booted seven kickoffs for 440 yards with an average of 62 yards per kickoff. He also punted the ball away four times for 158 yards with his longest coming at 47 yards.
