ELIGIBILITY QUESTIONS

The SCIAC and member institutions can only advise regarding D3 eligibility and regulations. The NCAA has been explicit about student-athletes looking to determine their eligibility status needing to go through the D1 compliance offices at their prospective new institution(s). As stated in the FAQ below, additional eligibility only applies to Division I student-athletes and thus needs to be reviewed and confirmed by a DI institution.

DI Board of Directors Waiver Eligibility FAQ

Generally, seasons of participation and terms of eligibility confirmed used at 2-years, NAIA or other NCAA schools will count for Division III. Participation or competition during seasons that were not counted by 2-years, NAIA or other NCAA schools would not count if the student transfers as an undergraduate but will likely count for determining graduate student eligibility.
