Kodumuri went 3-0 in singles matches as No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges started SCIAC play 2-0 with wins over No. 43 Chapman University and California Lutheran University in addition to a win over Division II Azusa Pacific University. The rookie won in straight sets at courts #3 and #5 against the Kingsmen and Panthers, respectively, then fought off four match points down 5-2 to provide the clincher in an epic three-set rally, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
 
 
Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week
Name: Anna Szczuka
School: Caltech
Year: Senior
Courts: #2 singles / #2 doubles
Hometown/High School: Scotch Plains, N.J. / Scotch-Plains Fanwood
 
Szczuka was unbeaten in four matches between singles and doubles as No. 29 Caltech earned key SCIAC victories over No. 31 California Lutheran University and No. 44 Chapman University. The senior teamed with Aoi Kunimoto at #2 doubles and recorded straight-set wins at #2 singles in each match ahead of another critical battle versus No. 32 University of Redlands on Friday.
